For the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, where the low temperature has lasted for a week, this cooling process is even worse. Facing the cold wave, the railway department has taken a series of measures to facilitate passengers’ travel.
"Before and after Spring Festival travel rush, the cold wave weather will cause trains to be delayed to varying degrees, which often affects the subsequent trains. Every day, there are 64 employees in 8 teams, who are on standby in the study room of the team according to the standard of travel. Once there is an order, the standby team must be ready to start within 10 minutes. " Huang Yongwei, director of the Production Dispatching Command Center of Chongqing Passenger Transport Section of Chengdu Railway Bureau, said that the emergency mechanism had been launched four times in January due to the blizzard.
In order to cope with the cold wave, Chongqing Passenger Transport Section has provided emergency supplies for every train. There are 11 kinds of materials such as rice, oil, noodles, etc. on the general speed train, and instant rice, biscuits and other foods on the EMU. During the snowstorm, the emergency supplies will be doubled to ensure that once the train is delayed due to the cold wave, emergency meals and commodities can basically be continuously supplied.
