In case of rain, snow and freezing weather, in order to prevent the wheels from idling and slipping, the driver will start the sanding system according to the actual situation in operation. In addition, when the brake control system of the EMU independently judges that the wheelset is idling or sliding, it will automatically sand.
Under the action of compressed air, the sand in the sand box of the EMU is scattered on the rail surface at the front end of the wheel running direction along the sand pipe. When the wheel runs over the sand, the friction between the wheel and the rail will increase, thus effectively solving the wheel slip problem and ensuring the EMU to stop within the specified braking distance.

After the snowfall, in order to ensure the safe operation of the train, the railway department promptly cleared the snow in key parts of the railway line, organized personnel to quickly carry out hot standby of snow removal machines, and cleared the snow and ice accumulation in sections and turnouts with slopes at the first time according to the changes of snow conditions and equipment conditions, so as to restore the normal state of the railway line and ensure the safe and smooth railway transportation.
The railway department pays close attention to the equipment changes, especially in areas with high cold and heavy snowfall, and sends special personnel to patrol the equipment continuously and clear the snow at the turnout to ensure the equipment is in good condition and the line transportation safety.
